Two people killed in a crash on the A68 in Northumberland have been named.

Ionel Rostas, 26, and Christina Minerva Rostas, 31, from Romania, died in a two-car collision just north of Byrness, near the Cheviot Hills, on 17 April.

A man in the other car was taken by air ambulance with serious but non life-threatening injuries, police said.

Detectives want to speak to a driver in a dark-coloured vehicle who stopped and drove around the crash scene.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "This witness could hold information which will assist the investigation and would like to hear from them."
