Former NUFC player Nile Ranger admits car park assault

Ex-Premier League footballer Nile Ranger has pleaded guilty to common assault following a fracas in a Newcastle car park.

The 21-year-old, who left Newcastle United by mutual consent a fortnight ago, was arrested after a fight in The Gate complex car park in the city.

Appearing at Newcastle Magistrates' Court, Ranger of Edwins Avenue, Forrest Hall, admitted common assault.

The former England Under-19 player was bailed and will sentenced on 9 April.
