David Charlton death: Accused plead not guilty to murder

Two men and a teenager have pleaded not guilty to the murder of a 25-year-old man who was killed on his way home from a night out in South Shields.

David Charlton was fatally stabbed in front of his girlfriend on 21 December.

Paul Carr, 31, of Hudson Street, South Shields, Keith Honeyman, 19, of Alice Street, South Shields, and a 16-year-old male pleaded not guilty at Newcastle Crown Court.

All three were remanded in custody to be tried on 10 June.
