Detectives investigating an armed raid at a Newcastle casino have arrested a third man.

Robbers brandishing a shotgun stole a "large amount" of cash from a security guard outside the Grosvenor Casino on 21 February.

Northumbria Police said a 37-year-old man had been arrested in Sunderland. Two others, aged 44 and 31, were arrested on Sunday.

A stolen white Audi 4x4 was found on fire after the raid.

All three men have been bailed.

Det Insp Andy Fairlamb said it was possible others may have been involved and renewed an appeal for witnesses.
