Three arrests in Sunderland unexplained hostel death

The death of a 37-year-old man at a hostel in Sunderland is being investigated, police said.

Northumbria Police were informed of the death by staff at the Salvation Army hostel in High Street East, shortly before 09:00 GMT.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of his death, which police said is being treated as unexplained.

They said three men have been arrested.
