Newcastle woman tied up during aggravated burglary

A woman in her 60s was tied up by burglars who broke into her Newcastle home.

Northumbria Police said at 20:00 GMT on Thursday, three men entered a house in Furzefield Road in Gosforth.

The men stole cash and jewellery and left the woman with minor bruising.

Det Insp Steve Wouldhave, of Northumbria Police, said it was an horrific ordeal and she would have been left incredibly distressed.
