Driver sought after fatal crash in North Tyneside

Police are looking for a driver who failed to stop at the scene of a fatal car crash in North Tyneside.

A Volkswagen Golf hit a crash barrier at about 19:20 GMT on Tuesday at the slip road from the Coast Road (A1058) to Norham Road.

Mark Flynn, 38, from Blyth, who was in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 30-year-old man, who was also in the Golf, was arrested and bailed. Police are now looking for another vehicle.

A dog was also killed in the crash, police said.
