A man has died in a fire at a house in County Durham.
Emergency services were called to the terraced property in Gladstone Gardens, Consett, at about 06:30 GMT on Friday.
The 41-year-old man, who was trapped inside, was recovered by firefighters but pronounced dead at the scene.
A joint investigation by County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service and Durham Police is under way.
