Driver killed after Longframlington crash

A motorist died has died in an accident in Northumberland.

Northumbria Police said a Rover 25 "left the road" on the A697 near Longframlington village and was involved in a collision.

The crash happened at around 22:30 GMT on Monday. The driver, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene and the road was closed for four-and-a-half hours.

Any witnesses are asked to contact the force's road safety unit.
