Man killed in Gateshead car crash named by police

A man who was killed when two cars collided on Tyneside has been named by police.

The crash happened at about 07:50 GMT on Saturday morning, on the A6076 Burdon Plain near Sunniside, Gateshead, near the Tanfield railway entrance.

Paul Cable, 31, from Blaydon, was pronounced dead at the scene after the two vehicles crashed.

Northumbria Police has appealed for any witnesses to the collision to contact them.
