Wild weather returns to the North East

With wild weather returning to the North East, BBC Look North's Chris Stewart reviewed freak events across the region at the weekend.

He talked to an official at a triathlon event who filmed a mini-tornado at Hetton Lyons Country Park, Hetton-le-Hole, while 70 teenagers were competing.

Elsewhere, there were flash-floods affecting roads, shops and houses. There was thunder, lightning and even hail storms in the region, on Sunday.

The Met Office has issued an amber warning, with further heavy rain expected.
