A man's body was discovered after emergency services were called to a fire at a Northumberland flat.
Northumbria Police said they were alerted by fire crews about a fire at The Gables, in Blyth, shortly after 09:30 BST.
Officers found a man dead inside the property. No further details have been released.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said inquiries were now under way into the cause of the fire and the death.
