Moat police: Taser 'only option'

Help

Northumbria Police said using unauthorised Tasers was the only option open to them as they tried to stop gunman Raoul Moat from killing himself.

Chief Constable Sue Sim described the situation as "unprecedented" and said they had wanted to bring Moat to justice.

She was speaking after the jury at the inquest into Moat's death returned a verdict of suicide.
