The 2013 Look North weather calendar

How to send us your weather picture

Image caption Harvesting at Bingfield, Dere Street, taken by Mick Vardy.

Please include full details of where and when the picture was taken, the name of the photographer and a contact address and telephone number.

Pictures should be in landscape format and attached as jpg files.

You may want to reduce the size of your picture for ease of e-mailing, as the BBC email system will reject any message over 10MB, but please let us know if you have a higher quality version available, should your picture be selected as a monthly winner.

We'll use some of your weather pictures on Look North and feature some in our monthly online galleries.

We will also consider each and every photo for our monthly weather picture competition: The Look North Weather team will select a shortlist of pictures each month which we will present to a guest judge/judges.

They will then choose the photo they think is the most appropriate to feature on the relevant month in our next look North Weather Calendar.

When the calendar is complete, it will go on sale with all the profits donated to BBC Children in Need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I send more than one photo each month?

A. Yes. You can send as many pictures as you like ...within reason! We would ask you to try to be selective: if you have several similar shots of a subject, try to choose your favourite and send that one, rather than send them all.

Q. I have sent pictures which haven't been used on Look North, aren't they good enough?

A. We get hundreds of pictures each month so there simply isn't time to show them all, but we do consider them all.

Q. I've sent pictures which haven't appeared on the gallery pages, aren't they good enough?

A. See previous answer.

Q. If I've already been selected as a winner can I enter again?

A. If you've won in previous years, feel free to enter again. If you've already won during the current year, then subsequent photos you submit will still be considered for TV and online gallery purposes, but will not be shortlisted as part of the monthly competition.
