Karl Jensen denies dangerous driving after Middlesbrough police officers hurt

A man has denied dangerous driving after an incident which saw a police officer dragged along the ground and another hit by a vehicle.

A Saab had been stopped on Albert Road, Middlesbrough, in the early hours of Saturday by police investigating a theft.

Karl Jensen, 32, of The Ridge, Coulby Newham, pleaded not guilty at Teesside Magistrates' Court earlier.

The case was committed to Teesside Crown Court on 18 August.

One officer suffered head and neck injuries while the other was treated for minor injuries.

A 24-year-old also arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed pending further inquiries.
