Armed police search and nine held after 'weapon' report in Hartlepool

Armed police are carrying out a search on Teesside after reports that a weapon was seen.

Officers were called to an address at Wynyard Mews, a block of flats, in Hartlepool, just after 07:30 BST.

Seven men and two women have been arrested on suspicion of affray and the property remains cordoned off.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "As public safety is paramount firearms officers are present, as is routine when any weapon is mentioned."
