Cleveland officers hurt in Hartlepool patrol car crash

Two Cleveland Police officers were hurt when their patrol car was in collision with another vehicle.

The pair were on patrol at 03:00 BST on Owton Manor Lane in Hartlepool, when they spotted a Nissan Almera driving without its headlights on.

When they attempted to stop it the vehicles collided and the driver of the Nissan left the scene without stopping.

It was later found abandoned on Gulliver Road. The officers were treated in hospital for minor injuries.
