North Ormesby house fire death: Man arrested by murder police

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman who died in a house fire on Teesside, police have said.

Teresa Ryan, 50, was rescued from a property on Warton Street in North Ormesby late on Wednesday night but was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 32-year-old Middlesbrough man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and burglary. A woman, 28, also from the town, has been held on suspicion of burglary, Cleveland Police said.

Both are being quizzed by detectives.

    Under the scheme, 11 Genomics Medicine Centres are being set up in English hospitals to gather DNA information to help devise targeted treatments for a wide range of diseases.

    It is focussing on cancer and rare genetic diseases.

    The aim is to look at the genetic code of 100,000 people within three years in order to develop new tests and drugs.
