Shotton Colliery triple-fatal crash: Man charged

A 23-year-old man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after three women were killed in a car crash in County Durham.

Rebecca Learoyd, 18, the driver of a Fiat 500, died at the scene at Front Street, Shotton Colliery, on 23 June. Her passenger, Megan Robinson, 19, died two days later in hospital.

Anne Peachey, 60, driving a Citroen Xsara, also died at the scene.

The man from Wingate will appear before Peterlee magistrates on 3 April.
