Hartlepool taxi-driver-knife-attack suspect arrested

A 28-year-old man has been arrested after a Teesside taxi driver was attacked with a knife in an attempted robbery.

The victim was treated for cuts to his hands following the incident on Musgrave Walk, Hartlepool, at 02:00 GMT.

Cleveland Police are linking the attack with an attempted robbery at Tesco on the town's Catcoat Road at 22:00 GMT on Friday.

A man fled from the store empty handed.

Police dogs and a helicopter was scrambled to find the attacker, after he ran from the taxi.
