Cordon removed after artillery shell found to be for training
Residents were asked to stay in their homes following the discovery of an artillery shell on Teesside allotments.
A cordon was set up round the site in Thornaby following the discovery of the shell shortly after 10:00 GMT.
Cleveland Police said residents living in up to 30 homes in Thornaby Road were asked to stay indoors.
But a bomb disposal unit from Catterick later confirmed the shell was a training round and removed it from the site.
