Developer sought for Middlesbrough's Middlehaven site

4 February 2014 Last updated at 15:14 GMT

The search is on for a developer to complete the revamp of a Teesside riverside site that began 25 years ago.

Since the late 1980s there have been a succession of proposals for the regeneration of Middlesbrough's former docklands at Middlehaven.

The last major vision in 2006 saw plans for 750 new homes, offices and leisure space and promised 2,000 jobs.

But the developer walked away from the project after completing just one apartment block.

Now the government agency that owns the 50-acre (20 hectare) site is on the hunt for a replacement.

Look North's Ian Reeve reports.
