Middlesbrough man arrested after 'sudden' death of woman

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the "sudden" death of a woman in Middlesbrough on Saturday.

A woman in her 70s died at about 16:40 GMT at an address on Fosdyke Green in the town, Cleveland Police said.

The death is being treated as suspicious and a post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish how the woman died.

A man in his 40s from Middlesbrough has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
