Warning after anaesthetic theft in County Durham

Anaesthetic stolen from a dental practice in County Durham could produce a "severe" medical reaction if taken internally, police have warned.

Vials containing clear liquid were taken from Burgess and Hyder dental practice in Whitworth Terrace, Spennymoor, on Wednesday night.

A laptop, cash and a yellow NHS prescription pad were also taken.

Durham Police said taking the liquid could result in heart and breathing problems.

The laptop did not contain information on patient records, police said.
