Andrew Simon Andrew Simon died from the effects of smoke inhalation

A man has been charged in connection with the death of a man in a house fire on Teesside.

Andrew Simon, 44, was killed in the blaze in Dent Street, in the early hours of 11 June.

The father-of-three suffered smoke inhalation after the fire was started in the downstairs of the property.

A 29-year-old man from Hartlepool has been charged with manslaughter and is due to appear before magistrates in the town on 29 July.

Two other people previously arrested over the incident have been released without charge.
