Work to start on Darlington £170m Central Park revamp

Work on a £170m regeneration scheme in Darlington is due to start on Tuesday.

The Central Park development will see hundreds of homes built alongside new offices and shops.

Darlington Council and the Homes and Communities Agency are responsible for the revamp, which has taken 10 years to come to fruition.

The 30-hectare (74-acre) site is close to the town centre, with the main entrance next to Darlington College and the town's Teesside University campus.
