A Grade-II listed manor house in Hartlepool has been put up for sale in the hope it will be restored and brought back in to use.
The Friarage Manor House, near Marine Crescent, has gone on the market along with adjoining land. Hartlepool Council said the site was available for housing or business purposes.
Councillor Robbie Payne said it was a "historic site" on the town's Headland.
The manor house was last used as part of St Hilda's Hospital.
It stands on the site of a former Franciscan Friarage, established around 1240.
The sale is being handled by the council on behalf of two separate charitable trusts.
