James Gibson death: Man charged after teacher hit by car

A man has been charged over the death of a teacher who was hit by a car in Hartlepool in December.

James Gibson, 28, from Jarrow, South Tyneside, died in hospital after suffering serious injuries in the crash on Grange Road on 19 December.

Colleagues at Hartlepool College described him as "very popular and an excellent teacher".

A man, 58, is due before Hartlepool magistrates on 30 May, charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
