Ex-Cleveland Police officer Wayne Scott appears in court

A former Cleveland Police officer has appeared in court charged with rape and other sexual offences.

Wayne Scott, 37, did not enter pleas to allegations including rape, attempted rape and "non-consensual sexual touching", at Teesside Magistrates' Court.

He will appear at Teesside Crown Court on 21 May in connection with the charges of rape and attempted rape.

Prosecutors said the offences related to two complainants.

The former officer, who gave his address as HMP Armley, will face a separate hearing in relation to the three other charges brought before magistrates earlier.
