Passenger dies when car crashes off A66 near Darlington

A Darlington woman died when a car left the road in County Durham.
Christine Harrison was the rear seat passenger of a VW Golf which struck a number of trees at the side of the A66 on Saturday morning.
The 28-year-old, of Longfield Road, was pronounced dead at the scene, between the football stadium and what is known locally as the Reg Vardy roundabout.
Two of the four other people in the car required hospital treatment but are not thought to be seriously hurt.
Durham Police is appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 06:00 GMT.
