Man dies after fire in car outside Middlesbrough pub

A man has died following a car fire in Middlesbrough.

Three fire crews attended the blaze in the car park of the Stainton pub in Meldyke Lane, on Thursday evening.

A man in his forties was taken to Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital for treatment to burns, but later died of his injuries.

A post-mortem revealed the man died of a result of severe burns. The cause of the fire, which happened at about 20.30 GMT, is not yet known, police said.
