Hartlepool United's game called off because of frozen pitch

A league one football game has been called off because of the wintry weather.

Hartlepool United's game against Colchester on Saturday was postponed as the Victoria Park ground is frozen.

Elsewhere, Durham County Council said gritters had been out on all major roads, keeping all routes open.

Meanwhile, the Met Office said up to 10 cms (4in) of snow is due to fall in the North East overnight and early Saturday.
