Teesside drivers warned over snowy weather

Drivers have been warned to take care in snow and ice on roads across Teesside.

There have been icy conditions overnight and the Met Office has issued a yellow alert, with heavier snowfall predicted later.

Durham County Council said gritters had been operating on all priority routes and no road or school closures have been reported.

Police are advising motorists to drive appropriately for the conditions.
