Man charged after acid left on Middlesbrough train
A man has been charged after a bottle containing hydrochloric acid was left on a train at Middlesbrough station.
British Transport Police (BTP) appealed for information after the incident, which closed the station and cancelled services on Sunday.
Officers were called after passengers reported a burning smell.
A 27-year-old, of no fixed abode, has been charged with threats to kill, manufacturing a weapon to discharge a noxious substance and public nuisance.
He will appear before Teesside magistrates later.
