Man charged with murder of Lesley Caile in Hunwick

A man has been charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found at her home in a County Durham village on Christmas Eve.

Mother of two and grandmother of three Lesley Caile, 48, from North View, Hunwick, near Crook, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Durham Police said Peter Edward Yorke, 46, also of North View, Hunwick, had been charged with murder.

He is due to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Ms Caile was employed by Durham County Council's children's and young people's services department.
