Woman dies in two-vehicle crash in Claxton, Billingham

A woman has died in a two-vehicle crash on Teesside.

Sally Holbrook was driving a Vauxhall Agila, which was involved in a collision with a Ford Focus on the A689 near Billingham.

The 48-year-old, of Hartlepool, was pronounced dead at the scene on Sunday afternoon.

A 52-year-old man, also travelling in Agila, was taken to James Cook University Hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.

The driver of the Focus, a 50-year-old man from Hartlepool, suffered injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Cleveland Police is appealing for witnesses to the crash at the junction of Dalton Back Lane, Claxton, at 17:25 GMT.
