The North East's first seal hide has been officially opened on Teesside.
Costing £50,000, the lookout will give people in the area the chance to get up close to the colony of Harbour seals when the newborn pups arrive in the summer.
Last year there was a record number of seal pups born at the site at Greatham Creek near Seaton Carew, the Industry Nature Conservation Association (INCA) said.
The 100-strong family welcomed 16 new arrivals, making it the North East's biggest pod of seals to date.
