Two held after car followed by police crashes into Teesside house

Two men have been arrested after a car being followed by police crashed into a house on Teesside.

Cleveland Police said they started following the car in Mill Lane, Billingham, after it failed to stop at 00:40 GMT.

The car hit a house in Tibbersley Avenue, damaging a bay window and brickwork. No-one was inside the house at the time.

A police spokesman said the arrested men were aged 21 and 66.

The 66-year-old, who was arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle, suffered minor injuries.
