Sharon Gayter beats treadmill running world records
A Teesside University lecturer has beaten the men's and women's world records for the distance covered running on a treadmill in seven days.
Sharon Gayter, from Guisborough, ran a total of 517.3 miles (832.5 km) in seven days.
According to Guinness World Records, the previous record holders were Lee Chamberlain who ran 468 miles (753.24km) in July 2009 and a grandmother from Kent, Mimi Anderson, who ran 650km (404 miles).
The 48-year-old beat the world records on Tuesday but continued to run until she had completed the full seven days.
