A woman has been raped in an alleyway in Chichester.

The 25-year-old victim was attacked in the alleyway connecting East Street and the Little London car park, close to the Ox Market.

The attack happened on Saturday night at some time between 22:00 BST and midnight, Sussex Police said.

A 32-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and released on bail until 9 October while inquiries continue.

Sussex Police are keen to speak to a man and a woman seen walking along the alleyway on Saturday night.
