Attempted murder arrest after Hastings bike crash

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two men riding a stolen motorbike were injured in a crash with a parked car.

Police said one of the men on the bike, aged 21, is in a critical condition in the Royal Sussex County Hospital after the crash in Milward Road, Hastings.

The other biker, aged 19, suffered a fractured kneecap.

The arrested man was held on two counts of attempted murder and suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving.

Reported stolen

He has been bailed until 22 September.

The motorbike was reported stolen from Alma Terrace just after 01:00 BST on Sunday. It hit the parked car at 01:54 BST.

Police said another car hit the motorcycle beforehand and are appealing for information about a Vauxhall Corsa found in Castledown Avenue.

A 19-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of theft, aggravated vehicle taking and possession of a knife. He has been bailed until 10 July
