Arrest after Crawley shop worker stabbed in robbery

A man has been arrested after a shop worker was stabbed during a robbery at a newsagents in West Sussex.

The robber, wearing a scarf over his face, went into the shop in Southgate Parade, Crawley, on Tuesday at 15:00 BST, and demanded money at knife-point.

The staff member handed over some cash but was stabbed in the hand and bottom as he tried to make the robber leave.

A man, 48, from Crawley, is being questioned on suspicion of robbery and causing grievous bodily harm.
