A campaign to introduce free parking in Brighton and Hove on Sundays has been backed by councillors.

A petition with more than 1,200 signatures was presented to the city council on Thursday after a campaign led by the Liberal Democrats.

Labour and Conservative councillors voted in favour of the proposals, defeating the Green administration.

Officials will now look into how much the plan will cost before it is considered further in May.
