Woman dies after car crashes into fence in Crawley

A woman has died after the sports car she was in left the road and hit a fence in West Sussex.

The 28-year-old woman was travelling along Crawley Avenue, Crawley, at 01:40 GMT in a BMW Z3 when the crash happened.

She was taken to St George's Hospital, Tooting, London, with serious injuries but was pronounced dead.

A 35-year-old man who was also in the car is in a serious condition but his injuries are not life-threatening.

Sussex Police is appealing for witnesses.
