Injured pedestrian Bernard McNeill dies in hospital

A 77-year-old pedestrian who was seriously injured when he was hit by two cars has died in hospital a week after the crash in West Sussex.

Bernard McNeill, of Faygate Lane, Faygate, near Horsham received serious head injuries in Ifield Drive, Crawley on 26 February.

Sussex Police said he was crossing the road when he was hit by a Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Passat.

He was taken to St George's Hospital, Tooting, where he died on Wednesday.

The crash happened at the junction with Parham Road, opposite Ifield shopping parade shortly after 18:00 GMT.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward, especially the driver of a small red car who may have witnessed the crash.
