Hastings murder: Flats death woman named as Susan Bowles

A woman found dead outside flats in Hastings has been named by police.

Sussex Police said 55-year-old Susan Bowles lived in George Street where her body was found just after 22:30 GMT on 13 November.

She was found in a communal area outside a block of flats.

Det Ch Insp Jon Fanner said officers were still awaiting post-mortem test results but a 61-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed pending further inquiries.

Officers said they were still treating the death as unexplained and keeping an open mind about the circumstances.

In a statement, Ms Bowles's family said: "We are shocked and saddened at the tragic news."
