A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his baby daughter.

Mark Sandland, 27, of Cambridge Road, Hastings, was remanded in custody at the hearing at Lewes Crown Court.

His six-week-old daughter Aimee-Rose died in November 2012. Sussex Police said she was injured in an "incident" and died four days later at Kings College Hospital, London.

Mr Sandland is due to appear again at the same court on 10 January. He has yet to enter a plea.
