Man remanded on Hastings double rape charges

A man has appeared in court accused of raping two women, including one on the beach in Hastings.

Paul Akrofi, 31, of Bohemia Road, Hastings, is charged with raping a 36-year-old woman on the beach in the early hours of 21 September.

He also faces two counts of rape and one charge of a serious sexual assault against a 33-year-old woman in a flat in the town five days later.

He was remanded in custody by Hastings magistrates until 22 October.
