Man in court accused of murdering baby daughter

A man accused of murdering his six-week-old daughter has appeared in court.

Mark Sandland, 27, of Cambridge Road, Hastings, has been charged with the murder of his daughter who died in November 2012.

He was remanded in custody after the hearing earlier at Brighton Magistrates' Court.

Mr Sandland is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Friday. He is yet to enter a plea.

Sussex Police said the girl was injured after an "incident" and died four days later in Kings College Hospital, London.
