'Loved by family'
Sussex Police believe a man intervened during the fight in Seaside Road and assaulted Mr Molineau before running off.
He was described as being white, in his early 30s, of tanned complexion, 6ft tall and of stocky athletic build.
Det Ch Insp Ian Pollard said: "We are currently following certain lines of inquiry and are still keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened, as well as anyone else who has any other information about the incident.
"It is still not clear exactly what caused the altercation, or why the man intervened. We are still seeking the second woman, as well as the man whose description we have issued."
The family of Mr Molineau issued a statement through Sussex Police, which said: "Lee was a happy-go-lucky lovable rogue, loved by his family and friends.
"However, he had some demons in his past that took him down the wrong path."
